Background

ScanMin Africa (Pty) Ltd specializes in the supply and support of on-line, real-time analysers used in various mining and mineral beneficiation processes.
The company was founded in 2000 by Bryan Buttemer to capitalize on the local demand for these analysers. In early 2001, Keith Buttemer joined to focus on expanding the market and implementing marketing strategies.
Scanmin uses an advanced Fast Neutron Dual Activation Analysis (FNDAA) technology which has similar characteristics to Pulsed Fast Thermal Neutron Activation (PFTNA).
These cross-belt analysers provide real-time data for process control, which is essential for stabilizing and optimizing plant operations.
Scanmin supplies coal analysers measuring Sulphur, Moisture and Ash (SMASH™) as well as Calorific Value of the coal.
Other analysers include Copper Analysers, Phosphate Analyser, Cement Analyser and Zink Analyser.

Typical applications include the bulk analysis of materials on conveyor belts—either at the source, receiving point, or distribution point.

Additional uses include particle size analysis in dry materials or opaque slurries, as well as moisture measurement in materials on a conveyor.
