Description

The Scanmin SMASH analyser has been developed using the latest cutting-edge digital technology. Important Coal constituents to the thermal power and coal industries, are measured directly by using the Scanmin signature neutron inelastic scatter and thermal neutron capture analysis. The analyser uses an Am241Be radionuclide neutron source to excite the material directly on a conveyor belt and produce real-time analysis results. The SMASH analyser is unique in that it can measure both organic and inorganic matter in Coal.

Results Reporting

Elemental results are produced in real-time as instantaneous or averaged results. The system can interface to most plant control systems.

Applications

The Scanmin SMASH analyser has the ability to analyse the bulk material on a conveyor belt. It is a rugged design that can operate in most industrial environments. The analyser can be used in a wide range of applications from coal receiving, boiler optimisation, density control etc… Real-time results assist operators and plant managers with active process control, quality control and contractual compliance to name but a few benefits.
